Thanks to a set of instructional DVD's from Felt Alive, I was able to create a felt version of my husband's Second Life avatar.  I'm still working on the guitar, trying to get it to stay put!

Sock monkey and friend

I made my first "sock monkey" on my trip to San Diego for the Discovery Summer Institute and made two more while attending a gathering of Second Life musicians in Montreal.  They're easy to make and so cute.  I used Baby Doll wool, it needle felts so quickly and is the perfect color for the monkeys.  Some of the people I met in Montreal suggested making them for various holidays.  I just learned my supplier for the Baby Doll wool has sold her sheep so I'm buying a pound of wool from her stock - that should make a lot of monkeys! I've also made rabbits, squirrels and a boxer with this wool.
